Grilled Bananas

Grilling is such a convenient cooking method, especially when you use a gas grill. I grill all year long. It saves me from having to wash all those pots and pans by hand. What I don’t see often enough, however, is dessert cooked on the grill.
Grilled bananas very easy to prepare, and you won’t believe how much the taste of the banana changes when cooked! I was fortunate enough to come across some fresh honey from a local beekeeper the other day, but that plastic honey bear from the supermarket will work just fine.
For each serving you’ll need the following:
1 firm, ripe banana
2 teaspoons honey
sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Peel the banana and cut in half lengthwise. Grill over high heat about 2 minutes per side, until grill marks appear and the banana has soften a bit. (Using a long spatula to flip the banana will help avoid breaking it when it softens.)
Arrange the banana halves on a plate and drizzle with the honey. Sprinkle with a few sesame seeds and serve.
